Silver Mezuzah case beautifully decorated with geometric patterns. In the front, a small opening for the appearance of the Hebrew inscription "שדי" (Shaddai - Hebrew for Almighty) which is one of the biblical names of God, and also serves as an acronym for Shomer Daltot Israel - Guardian of Israel's doors. Marked "ירושלם", "בצלאל". Attached is a parchment scroll (hasn't been opened nor checked).
The "Bezalel School of Art and Craft" is the first school of art in the land of Israel, founded in 1906 by Boris Schatz. Bezalel's silver works were done by several groups; the Silver Department at Bezalel, which opened in 1908 and was headed by Shmuel Persov, in the Yemenite goldsmiths' colony in Ben Shemen, which operated from 1911 to 1914 and was run by Ben-Zion Ben Aharon, and in independent groups such as Keter and Sharar. The works created in the school are considered the beginning of Israeli visual art.
