A protective amulet, with suspension loop, in the shape of a fleur-de-lis. The amulet is inscribed with two Hebrew Kabbalistic texts: "אנקתם פסתם פספסים דיונסים" and "ב[שם] אוריא[ל] רפא[ל] גבריאל מיכא[ל] נוריאל".
The first text is a twenty-two letter sentence in which each letter is replaced by a different letter from the Priestly Blessing (Birkat Kohanim). The second text contains the names of five angels - Uriel, Raphael, Gabriel, Michael, Nuriel. The names of the five angels are very common in amulets in general and in Yemenite amulets in particular. The angels are recruited to ward off demons and pests and sometimes to protect the mother and her baby.
