  • ADDITIONAL INFO

An Israeli brass Mezuzah case, decorated with architectural motifs and floral pattern decorations. The front of the mezuzah case has the Hebrew letter shin (ש), the first letter of Shaddai (Hebrew for Almighty) which is one of the biblical names of God, and also serves as an acronym for Shomer Daltot Israel - Guardian of Israel's doors.

While the important part of the mezuzah is the parchment scroll, the klaf, and not the case itself, designing and producing mezuzah cases have been elevated to a form of art over the ages. Mezuzah cases vary in size and style, and are produced from a wide variety of materials, from silver and precious metals, to wood, stone, ceramics, pewter, and more.
