Decorative Hanukkah Lamp by TAMAR
ADDITIONAL INFO
An upright branched Hanukkah lamp, made by TAMAR. The lamp is designed as an olive tree; its base is a pattern of roots, amongst them the inscription "Jerusalem". Eight delicate olive-tree branches stem from the center. TAMAR produced Judaica items and Bezalel-styled souvenirs and was founded by Arye Schechter and Jacob Sendik in 1956.
The design of Hanukkah lamps in the 1950's and the 1960's in Israel were influenced by the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. New motifs were added to the designs, such as the map of Israel, pioneers, soldiers and more.
